You will be notified by a representative to confirm your registration info. A comprehensive member budget is shared as well. Those unable to attend the private Spring Screening may be notified if/when there may be another opportunity to try out, as limited slots are available each season (pg. 3).

In cooperation with The City Of New Orleans, New Orleans Society Of Dance (NOSD) is proud to host our dance company's tenth annual Baby Doll Ladies Mardi-Gras Dance-Parade Fat Tuesday, March 4, 2025!

Thank you for registering with the New Orleans Society of Dance (NOSD) Signature Ensemble, OR Auxiliary unit for 2024-25 season. NOSD is recruiting dedicated, adult ladies (starting age 19), who are either interested in performing choreographic/ professional stage acts seasonally with the New Orleans Baby Doll Ladies as a Dance Company Member, and OR seeking to also or only participate in our annual Krewe of Baby Doll Ladies Mardi-Gras Day Walking Parade as an Auxiliary member!

ABOUT THE DANCE COMPANY OR COLLEGIATE UNITS:
The Signature Dance Ensemble is comprised of the company's principle (Intermediate to advanced) dancers and are considered cultural dance ambassadors of the organization. Summer intensive and ALL Fall/Winter rehearsals are mandatory.
Prospects must reside locally, and talented in or interested in learning dance styles including, yet not limited to, hip hop, jazz, tap, bucking, & freestlye/improvisation. The right candidate is also able to present themselves in a professional manner. Because The New Orleans Baby Doll Ladies (BDL) is a cultural staple and role models in our communities, we will select ladies who are committed to a healthy, productve lifestyle.
The BDL Dance-Talent screening is a two step process beginning with the preliminary dance tryout. Those advancing will then take part in an interview (same day). Call backs will conclude on a pre-determined date with a rehearsal alongside current dance company members. Incoming and returning membership is a nominal investment fee in Summer camp intensive, dancer gear, parade essentials and expendables. As a dance company member you can look forward to:
* A complete orientation on The BabyDollLadies cultural legacy
* Participating in the BabyDollLadies annual induction luncheon
* Performing in The BDL Cabaret,
* Performing in the BabyDollLadies Mardi-Gras Dance-Parade & seasonal appearances/promotions.

* Enjoying the spotlight of performing in BDL dance videos
* Supporting the community thru BDL School/Youth Programs
* Being a role model for young artists in your community
* Entertaining local & national television audiences
* Entertaining clandestine & bespoke event audiences

ABOUT THE AUXILIARY UNITS:
The New Orleans Baby Doll Ladies Auxiliary Units are the quintessential drill team, tray steppers and float court members of our Annual Dance-Parade!
Join the revelry along with the Dance Company! Auxiliary Members have "fun with creative-cadence" tutorials and learn BDL struts by video in preparation of the big day. Auxiliary members also engage in the Baby Doll Ladies virtual living history orientations which is also a requisite for induction. Each qualified parade-roster participant secures a nominal budget for associated expenses. Your experience Includes:

REQUIREMENTS:
MUST be at least 19 years of age
College Students, Professional, Retired & Amateur Dancers of ALL DANCE LEVELS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!
